The review of the financial management is governed by Act No. 420/2004 Sb. (Collection of Laws), on review of financial management of self-governing units and voluntary unions of municipalities, which regulates the review of financial management of self-governing units as well as municipal districts of the City of Prague, voluntary unions of municipalities, and regional councils of the cohesion regions.

The subject of the review is:
– information on annual management of the self-governing unit comprising a part of the closing account,
– management of the assets owned by the self-governing unit,
– management of the assets owned by the state which are managed by the self-governing unit,
– procurement and implementation of public contracts, with the exception of the acts and procedures reviewed by a supervisory body pursuant to a separate regulation,
– status of receivables and payables and the management thereof,
– liability for the obligation of individuals and legal entities,
– pledging of movable and immovable items in favour of third parties,
– institution of easements with respect to the assets of the self-governing unit,
– accounts kept by the self-governing unit.
